Lightning bolt button is for FLASH!!!
-red eye reduction
-suppressed flash
-forced flash
-auto
The photos are off color with the flash on.

Half-pushed down button: The subject becomes more focused and the background becomes blurrier. It won't take a photo until the button is pushed all the way down.

The flower button is for making a smaller subject in better focus. You can get pretty close to the subject, within a couple of inches. You can get closer to the subject zoomed out.

Zoom Feature: We should make sure it's in pretty good focus unless it's for artistic reasons.

Different Features: They are used for different areas of importance. Ones for running, portraits, auto, iso auto, iso 200, and video.
They are focusing the camera to help for different situations.
