I think that you could make a pinhole camera. The design would be pretty much the same as a pinhole camera, though you would need a SSD card slot, electronics and wiring. When someone opened the shutter, the light would shine on the CCD chip and the photons would transfer the memory to the SSD chip. There would be problems such as that the box would have to be light-tight, but still be able to insert and remove the SSD chip unless you do not want to know what the photos look like.
The digital pinhole camera would be difficult to make because that the box would need to be light-tight, but have openings to allow the SSD chip to be put in and removed. The electronics would be hard to get into the box and stay attached so that it does not get in the way of the light when the photo is being taken. I do not really see how this could be easy except for the making the box and getting every thing that you need together.

Pretty cool. Just to be clear ...
The shutter is the "card that covers the hole".
The hole is called the aperture.
The easiest digital pin hole is to take the SLR, big class camera, take off the lens, put tinfoil over the opening and put a hole in it. voila.
